My aunt and grandmother welcome the bridegroom and his immediate family to the wedding hall on the 5th. All the ceremonies on the 4th were at the house, but these are at the Rajah Muttaih Hall in Egmore.
A simple thread ceremony before the actual wedding. Ashwin's "veshti" was dipped in turmeric water and dried at the engagement for use the next day.
